JFK Truth Project 2013-2014

The JFK Truth Project…Our Last Chance to Solve the Crime that Still Haunts the U.S.

Nearly 50 years after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, it’s time to finally reveal the full story of this monumental turning point in American history.

Over the next two years, the U.S. will commemorate major anniversaries in the Kennedy case, including the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy’s death, in November 2013, and the 50th anniversary of the Warren Report, in September 2014. During this critical period, when once again the American people’s attention will be focused on this haunting mystery, the JFK Truth Project will mount an extensive legal and media campaign aimed at solving the epic crime.

The historical lessons spotlighted by the JFK Truth Project continue to have deep relevance for the country. President Kennedy’s assassination not only marked the violent end of an administration dedicated to the peaceful resolution of the Cold War – it paved the way for an era of permanent war, coups and assassinations that has continued all the way to the Obama presidency and the lawless reign of killer drones. It’s vital for the American people to learn about our past, so we can avoid catastrophes in our future.

The JFK Truth Project will be a multi-faceted campaign that will include:

·        Important new books that will significantly advance our understanding of the Kennedy assassination and cover-up. Among these are David Talbot’s forthcoming book on legendary CIA chief Allen Dulles and his central role in the crime and the cover-up, and Jefferson Morley’s new book about the CIA station in south Florida in the early 1960s, a nexus of anti-Kennedy intelligence agents, Mafia crime lords, and anti-Castro Cuban plotters.  Both of these books will present explosive new information about the men who were responsible for the murder of the president.
·        “Brothers,” a new feature documentary based on David Talbot’s bestselling book about Robert Kennedy’s secret search for the truth about his brother’s murder. Featuring interviews with Kennedy administration officials who are speaking for the first time about the conspiracy against JFK, “Brothers” has already won the strong support of Robert Kennedy Jr., who recently told a Dallas public forum hosted by Charlie Rose that his father never accepted the Warren Report and the lone gunman theory.
·        JFK Facts, a new web site that has already established itself as the leading clearinghouse for news and information about the Kennedy assassination. Edited by Jefferson Morley, JFK Facts monitors mainstream news organizations and the blogosphere and sets the record straight on JFK stories via Twitter, Facebook and the web. JFK Facts has broken several big stories, including an expose of Bill O’Reilly’s embarrassing lie in his bestselling Kennedy book, and a report on still-secret files on accused assassin Lee Harvey Oswald held by the Office of Naval Intelligence.
·        A Freedom of Information legal campaign to finally pry loose the 1,500 classified documents related to the Kennedy assassination that are still being withheld by the CIA, in violation of the JFK Records Collection Act. A similar FOIA effort is being launched to obtain CIA travel records for a key agency suspect in the crime, whom new information has connected to Dallas in November 1963. A successful resolution of these lawsuits – both of which are  spearheaded by veteran Washington lawyer James Lesar -- could shed a headline-making light on “the crime of the century.”

The ultimate goal of the JFK Truth Project is to establish a public inquest into the Kennedy assassination that will issue definitive conclusions about the case. This inquest -- which will be overseen by leading jurists, scholars and investigative journalists -- will probe some of the darkest chambers of the U.S. national security state. The inquest is scheduled to be held in Washington D.C. in September 2014 – to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the release of the Warren Report, which marked the official cover-up of the assassination.

This public reckoning is long overdue. The 50-year milestone commemorating the assassination and the official cover-up might be the last opportunity in our lifetimes to finally resolve this national trauma. Please join us in our quest to solve this epic crime against American democracy.
