In observance of the upcoming 50th anniversary of President
John F. Kennedy’s assassination, Utah  ’s
Kurt Bestor will premiere his 45-minute piece: "JFK: Rise, Fall and
Immortality" at the John  F. 
 Kennedy  Memorial 
 Plaza   in Dallas  
at noon  on March 15.
"I wanted to take this unfortunate part of American
history and use it to pay tribute to the man that was President John F.
Kennedy," said Bestor in a press release. "I think that it is important
to recognize the impact of historical events on our lives today and I am
thankful that I have the ability to do this with music."
Kennedy was shot at noon 
on Nov. 22, 1963 .
Bestor described his piece as a five-movement classical work
for choir and orchestral ensemble. Dr. Craig Jessop will conduct a group of
freelance musicians including Bestor, who will be playing piano.
Jessop is the dean for the Caine 
 College   of the Arts at Utah 
 State  University  
and is the former music director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
